Automatic Image Fetching

How Unload automatically searches and downloads product images from the web using Serper and Gemini Vision.

Automatic image fetching

Unload can automatically search and download product images from the web. The system uses Google search (via Serper) to find images, then Gemini Vision to filter and keep only relevant images of the correct product.

1

Select cards without images

On the Products page, check the cards you want to fetch images for. Only cards with no existing images will be processed. Each card must have at least a title and a vendor (brand).

2

Click "Fetch Images"

In the right-side toolbar, click the Fetch Images button (magnifying glass icon). Unload starts searching in the background.

3

Track progress

A blue badge appears on each card being processed with the current status:

  • Pending...: the card is queued
  • Searching...: Unload is searching Google for images
  • Downloading...: found images are being downloaded
  • Analyzing...: Gemini Vision is analyzing images for relevance
4

Check the results

Once processing is complete, relevant images are automatically added to the card. Open the product detail panel to see them. If color variants exist, images are automatically matched to the correct color.

How it works

  1. Search: Unload generates search queries from the title, vendor, and product type. If color variants exist, additional queries are generated per color (e.g., "Nike Air Max 90 Navy product photo").

  2. Download: Found images are downloaded (max 15 images sent to analysis, max 5 in parallel). Images smaller than 5 KB are skipped.

  3. AI Filtering: Gemini Vision analyzes each image and assigns a relevance score (0-100). Only images scoring above the threshold (50 by default) are kept. The AI also detects visual duplicates.

  4. Selection: The best images are retained (maximum 6 per card by default). Images from the same website as the supplier are prioritized.

  5. Variant matching: If an image clearly matches a color variant, it is automatically assigned (visible in the detail panel under "Variants").

If automatic fetching does not find good images, use the Chrome Extension to capture them manually from the supplier's website.
